Why we will not text you a price

A bathroom is plumbing, framing, waterproofing and tile stacked on top of each other, and none of that is visible in a photo. The number we give you after standing in the room is the number that holds, and holding is the whole point.

What actually happens, in the order it happens
Most people have never seen a bathroom taken apart, so a bid is just a number next to another number. Here is the whole job, step by step, including the part you pay for and never see.
01 Walkthrough and numbers
Before anything comes off the wall.
We meet at your house, measure the room, look at what the plumbing and the framing are actually doing, and talk through tile, fixtures and layout. You leave that conversation with a written scope that says what is included and what is not.
A number given over the phone is a guess. When the guess is wrong, it gets corrected halfway through the job, and you are the one paying the correction.
02 Demo and haul out
The messy day, contained.
We cover the path from your door to the room, pull out the old tile, tub, vanity and drywall, and take the debris with us. Your house stays livable while the bathroom is not.
Demo is where surprises live. Rotten subfloor and old leaks show up here, and we tell you the day we find them, not the week we bill them.
03 Rough in
While the walls are still open.
Supply lines, drains and electrical get moved to where the new layout needs them. This is the moment to relocate a shower valve, add a niche or run power for better lighting, because everything is still reachable.
Moving a drain after the floor is closed means opening the floor again. Layout decisions are cheap now and expensive later.
04 Waterproofing
The layer you will never see.
The shower gets a proper sloped base, a bonded waterproof membrane over the walls and pan, and sealed corners and penetrations. Then it sits and gets tested before a single tile goes on.
This is the step a cheap bid skips, because you cannot see it and it does not show up in photos. It is also the only thing standing between your shower and the framing behind it.
05 Tile and finish
Where the layout pays off.
Tile gets laid out dry first so the cuts land in the right places, full pieces sit where the eye goes, and the lines carry from floor to wall. Then grout, fixtures, glass, vanity and trim.
Anyone can stick tile to a wall. Planning where the cut pieces end up is the difference between a bathroom that looks built and one that looks patched.
06 Final walkthrough
We walk it together.
We go through the room with you, run the water, open the doors, and write down anything that is not right. The list stays open until it is done and you tell us it is finished.
If something shows up after we are gone, call and we come look at it. That is not a piece of paper, it is how we work.
A full bathroom usually runs 2 to 3 weeks from demo to final walkthrough.
